Individuals planning to travel must be in the possession of a valid passport. 

A valid passports is: Depending on travel dates; your passport must still be valid for 6 months after your return from travel date. _

VISAS

A visa is your permission to enter into another country. 

A visa simply indicates that your application has been reviewed at an embassy, mission or consulate and that the consular officer has determined you are eligible to enter the country for a specific purpose.

The visa provides you with the clearance to enter a country and remain there within specified constraints, such as, but not limited to:

Time frame for entry
Time spent in the country
Travel purpose (e.g., a tourist visa prohibits employment)

NOTE: 

Not all international travel requires a visa. This is determined according to both the travel destination and the passport(s) held by the traveler.
